Cybot is a Kit Robot that came with a fortnightly magazine called "Ultimate Real Robots" starting in 2001. The first issue came with a VHS tape that explained what it was all about. I found this copy of the tape uploaded to YouTube.
Here are the instructions from issue 1. The images below are clickable.

The Motor Driver Board that comes with this issue consists of two H-bridge circuits and a 5v regulator circuit with power on and low battery LED's. There is a good description by Nigel Goodwin on his Cybot Technical wensite.

The Light I/O Board that came with issue 8 also has a good description by Nigel Goodwin on his web site " A Cybot Technical Site". The board has an LM311 comparitor circuit that is used with later additions to Cybot in a line following mode. I built a similar circuit in LTSpice. In the picture below the green trace is the input from V3, the blue trace is the Ref voltage into the comparators +ve input. When the input on the comparators -ve input rises above this level the output voltage drops to 0 volts, as can be seen on the red output trace.
